Recently, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Al Gore won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
There’s been some debate and reaction since–what do you think?

Nobody wants this man to win anything. I feel for him.
That said…environment == nice to have, but environment != peace. Science of some kind, sure. But peace? I don’t think so.

One blog comment I read last week made a great argument on it:
If his work is so great, would he have won the prize for science…?

I hate to shatter the previous comments, but there is no Nobel Prize for Science.
Every war ever fought has been about resources. Those who have resources want to make sure noone else gets any, or make sure noone gets theirs. Those who don’t have go after them from those who do.
Gore is on about an issue that will affect resources, and will cause many many wars and much suffering. He’s trying to help people learn about it, and thereby reduce potential damage.
Preventing wars is about peace as much as stopping wars is.
