What’s your take on global warming– fact or fiction?
Disclaimer: I truly am not trying to lead the question with this photo– the “stoopid” part simply cracked me up, and in addition, I wasn’t quite sure what the graffiti artist was trying to get at.
Here’s the alternate photo I was going to use, because it’s so darn cute:

Global Warming is probably a fact, but the hype is still hype. That’s my take anyway. I figure this sort of thing just happens every couple of eons.

I think it is certainly something worth worrying about, although I haven’t made a diligent effort to understand the science behind it. I certainly think that, regardless of it’s effects on climate, there are enough other reasons to be concerned with our fossil fuel usage (air quality, non-sustainability, sending large sums of money to unstable governments, etc.) that there needs to be a significant effort to reduce carbon emissions and promote more sustainable energy production.
Our energy needs are skyrocketing (my PC now has a 700W power supply), and technological development shouldn’t be stifled. We’re human. Self-preservation is in our interest, so we’ll figure something out. Hopefully sooner rather than later, and in a way that minimizes negative consequences.
