“My current “motto” and the signature in my emails:
“I don’t believe in a simple life. I believe in simple motivations, but I believe in a complex life filled with projects that can help other people. The Lord has instructed us that ‘men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause…’”

“It used to be “Slothful and lucky.”… I’m not kidding. Kind of an underachieving let-down, eh? The basic point was, “how often can I slack on something (usually homework or studying), but still maintain some kind of good karma whereby I get off the hook?
“It’s amazing how many times as a student, I was unprepared for class, but somehow, with this mantra, either eeked by okay, or else, felt good about my failings. Good thing I wasn’t studying medicine!”
